H2O Foundation provides water and sewer bill assistance and limited plumbing repair support to eligible Greater Birmingham residents.

Check your eligibility
H2O serves seniors age 55+ and adults receiving SSI or SSDI for a disability. Applicants must be Central Alabama Water Works customers. Income and household circumstances are also considered.

Gather your documents
Have your valid photo ID, proof of income, proof of residence and current water bill ready. The team may request additional documentation.

Submit your application
Use H2O’s existing online application, or visit our office during walk-in application hours. Our team can help if you need assistance.

H2O reviews your information
The team reviews eligibility, documentation, urgency and available funding. Submitting an application does not guarantee approval.

If approved, payment goes to the provider
Approved assistance is paid directly to the appropriate utility or service provider, not to the applicant.
